The principal shall be responsible for the organization, administration, and the supervision of his school, and in turn he shall be responsible to the Superintendent.
The Board considers supervision one of the most important duties of the principal. The principal shall be responsible for evaluating the efficiency of his personnel, and making recommendations to the Superintendent for tenure, transfers, promotions, or dismissals.
The principal is the educational leader of the school. He should be alert to opportunities to improve the instructional program, to foster the professional growth among his teachers, to work for the best interest of his students and faculty, and to maintain good relations with the school's community.
BUILDING ADMINISTRATORS
Each junior high and high school shall be authorized at least one assistant principal. When the enrollment at a junior high or high school reaches eight hundred or more students, as shown on the Annual School Report, a second assistant principal shall be authorized. When the enrollment of the junior high or high school reaches fifteen hundred or more students, a third assistant principal shall be authorized.
Elementary schools having an enrollment of eight hundred or more students shall be eligible for an assistant principal.
